  Vietnamese lychees head to France

  About two to three tonnes of the fruit will be shipped. The company's first batch of nearly 600kg of lychees, exported to France early this month, was sold in three days. The second batch is selling well, thanks to the sweetness and freshness of the fruits.

  Fresh lychee applied the sulphur dioxide fumigation – door open for Vietnamese lychee to EU market

  “The sulphur dioxide fumigation on lychee will not only meet EU food hygiene requirements but also keep the fruit fresh in 5 weeks which was successfully applied in Madagascar" quoted, agriculture specialist Michel Jahiel Pierre. If successfully applied in Vietnam, Vietnamese lychees will be transported by sea instead of air which leads to a cut in selling price.

  The first batch of Vietnamese lychees weighing around 500 kilograms is available for sale at a supermarket in France, government website chinhphu.vn reported.
